Skopje, August 21, 2025Β
The Government of North Macedonia has finalized a 19.4 million Macedonian denar (MKD) contract for the procurement of server equipment, marking a significant step in strengthening the countryβs digital infrastructure. The contract was officially awarded by ASEE DOEL Skopje to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia, following an open tender procedure published in the Official Journal of the European Union (Notice No. 547342-2025).
The awarded contract, titled βProcurement of Server Equipmentβ (Reference No. 09957/2025), covers the supply, installation, and configuration of high-performance servers intended to enhance data management and digital service capacity within the Ministry.
The contract value totals MKD 19,409,651.80, with the agreement signed on August 20, 2025. The project is scheduled to run from September 1 to December 31, 2025, ensuring timely deployment of the new hardware across key departmental systems.
Buyer: ASEE DOEL Skopje - a key government IT procurement body operating under North Macedoniaβs central administration.
Awarded Supplier: Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy of the Republic of North MacedoniaΒ - acting as the implementing body and equipment recipient.
Located at Leninova 2, Skopje, the Ministry will be responsible for integrating the new servers into its internal IT network, improving digital record management, agricultural data processing, and inter-departmental communications.
The open procedure, compliant with Directive 2014/24/EU and North Macedoniaβs national procurement laws, attracted two competing bids. The evaluation was based solely on price, emphasizing cost efficiency and compliance with technical specifications.
While the project is not financed through EU funds, it is covered under the WTO Government Procurement Agreement (GPA), ensuring adherence to international transparency and competition standards.
The procurement aims to upgrade the Ministryβs IT backbone, enabling more reliable access to digital platforms supporting agriculture, forestry, and water resource management. With the country accelerating its digital transformation agenda, the new servers will enhance data security, system performance, and operational resilience across public sector systems.
Experts view this investment as a strategic digital modernization measure, aligning with broader government objectives to improve e-governance and inter-ministerial data integration.
Any appeals or reviews related to this procurement fall under the jurisdiction of the State Commission for Public Procurement Appeals in Skopje, which oversees public contract compliance and dispute resolution.
With implementation scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, the Ministryβs IT modernization initiative is expected to boost operational efficiency and transparency, supporting North Macedoniaβs long-term digital governance goals.
